Saying "thank you"

what ever happened to this?

why can't people say it anymore? this is probably my BIGGEST pet peeve. when i was little, even when someone did the smallest thing for me, my mom would always say "what do you say, Paige?" and i knew that meant it was time to say "thank you". when you're little, you don't really understand what it means i guess, but the older you get, the more you realize what it means. i just don't understand what happened to manners. i think saying thanks is one of the easiest and NICEST things you can do!

do you guys encounter people not saying thank you a lot? or is this just some more Detroit nonsense? (lol).
