drugstore makeup minihaul

as a lot of you probably know, i am a complete MAC whore. it's my favorite makeup brand and always will be, but i decided to check out some drugstore brands for a while. i had a few things before, but i almost never used them with the exception of mascara because MAC mascara makes my eyes BURN like no other. (anyone else have this problem?)

I've been wanting to try the Loreal HIP eyeshadows for a while and i finally did and i think i'm in love! I got the duo called Platinum. It's a super pigmented silver and a black. now, in the pics that silver showed up like that in one swipe, but the black, it took 3 swipes for me to get it that dark. i'm not too impressed with the black, but I got it mostly becasue I wanted a silver shadow. The silver is a metallic. Very, very shiny and the black is basically matte with few & far between silver glitter in there. I will definitely be wearing this a lot!

Also, i got the new Maybelline Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner and i'm not that impressed. it's super dark which i love, but it's really messy IMO and it's not available in waterproof! boo! It has a felt tip instead of the usual brush and the felt tip gives you a lot more control which I love.

The last thing I got: Maybelline Define a lash eyeliner. just kinda "eh" about this. plain black eyeliner. It came with a smudger on the end which is cool, and it glides on REALLY nice and smooth, but it's just your run of the mill eyeliner i guess.

I will DEFINITELY be getting more HIP eyeshadows! Do you ladies love them too? any suggestions for good colors?

omg, i've been so busy.

sorry i've been neglecting all you lovely ladies! this work schedule is CRAZYYYY and i'm looking for a new job too so it's been really crazy. on top of that, after much consideration and deciding that things were getting out of hand; i started grief counseling to deal with my mom's death. i only started 2 weeks ago but i feel SO DRAINED after, but it really does help just to talk about it.

anywho, i've been shopping!

got a few things at walmart:




finally got a lighted makeup mirror! i love it =]

and 2 really cute, super comfy bras and they were only $10 each! such a bargain.

also, who knew Hard Candy is now at walmart? i didn't! last i knew it was at sephora. but i got this really pretty baked blush called "Honeymoon" and it gives you the most gorgeous glow! love it <3

also, i've been obsessed with glamour mag lately. it's my new favorite!

then i went on a ring spree!

got one at Ashley Stewart and 2 at Avenue. I usually don't shop at plus size stores cuz i really don't like the stuff they, but most stores stop at a ring size 8 and i'm like a 9, so, yep.


aren't they super cute? the huge white one is actually stretchy. it's kind of uncomfy actually, but i'm willing to sacrifice for cuteness =]

best conditioner i have EVER used.

this is my new HG! saw it at the beauty supply store & it sounded interesting. i think it was only 5 bucks or so and you get a HUGE tub of it. my hair is SO SOFT afterward, i can't even believe it. i leave it on a lot longer than the directions say, but it's conditioner, i don't think any harm can really be done. just started using it a week ago, (just used it for the second time today), and my hair has been breaking off like mad over the past year or so. arrghh. so, i think after a month or so i'll blog about how my hair's doing. so far, so good though! if it's this soft, it must be doing something good!

btw, i think this stuff is only made for African America hair, all my lovely Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic etc., with straight hair, readers may want to beware of this stuff! i can imagine it may make your hair oily and flat. idk, maybe i'm wrong though.

my first LUSH product!

yay, i got a FREE bath bomb! i was so excited.

me & my bff were walking through Macy's & we were in the cosmetics section & we passed the Lush counter and they were doing some weird giveaway. you had to draw a bear (yeah, i know) & you won a free bath bomb! so i drew a VERY crude one. it was terrible. it had flowers & trees & a smiling sun & shiz around it. i was a true ar-teest. yes ma'ams!

anyway, the bathbomb i got is called "white wedding". they don't have it up on the site, i guess because it was limited edition, but the packaging says it's "filled with indulgent, soothing & smoothing oils such as Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Rose & Bergamot".

it smells pretty good!

haven't used it yet, but i will soon, i'm pretty excited!

Update on the E.L.F. Flat poweder brush!

omgosh ladies.

i was using my new stuff this morning & i used my flat brush to put powder under my eyes and it seemed to do a good job.
later on, i noticed all these black hairs on my clothes & i was like, "where in the hell is this coming from?" and just now, i'm getting ready to go out, and i use my brush again, and there's brush hairs all over my face! that's where it was coming from! the stupid brush is not only shedding, it's coming out in CLUMPS. do not get this brush ladies!

flat powder brush...
i think i'm gonna try & use this to apply foundation. i've seen people online doing it, but i feel like this brush may be a bit too soft. we shall see.




#2] angled foundation brush
i already have a foundation brush. a sonia kushak one (from target), but i figured i'd try this angled one & it's a bit wider too.




#3] navy blue nail polish
i saw some Chanel nail polish online a while ago, but i REFUSE to pay more than $3 or $4 for a bottle of nail polish & for some reason i couldn't find a dupe. i looked everytime i stepped into a beauty supply store. but i finally found some! the pic doesn't do it justice, it's so pretty up close! it's nice & shimmery. can't wait to rock this =]




#4]bubble gum pink nail polish.
i have a million different pink nail polishes, but i really like this one! not too light & not too bright. i think i'm gonna polish my nails this color tonight.



#5] eye shadow blending brush.
eh, i just wanted one, lol.



#6] an eyelash curler.
i had one, but who the hell knows where it is now... and this one has a place to put your fingers which is nice.




#7] eyeliner brush.
good for when you want to use an eyeshadow as an eyeliner. also, you could try smudging/smoking your eyeliner with this.



#8] concealer brush.
this brush is super tiny & it'll be good to get all this icky little things you want to cover up. zits, acne scars, dark spots, whatever. i will DEFINITELY be using this all the time. ha.



#9] oil absorbing sheets.
ladies, we all know what these are for. when you get oily during the day! ugh. now, i like looking dewy, but sometimes i get flat out oily. kinda sick, right? this came with 50 in a pack. i can't wait to see how well they work! these are coming with me EVERYWHERE.



and last but not least...

#10] black eyeliner pen.
i think this is my favorite thing i got. it's liquid, but it has a felt tip so it's firm, but not too firm. and it goes on nice & dark.


i wrote on my wrist to show how precise it is, lol. boy my signature looks ugly.
