yay!

my last day of work after being fired/laid off/what the hell ever you wanna call it was a week ago, and one week and 3 interviews later, i got a job! hard work pays off y'all =]

i know we're in a recession, but you can find something if you look hard enough, even if it's not what you want.

for some reason i'm super excited about it this year. i bought a costume last year but i didn't even end up going out, lol. so, this year i want to. and i found the CUTEST costume!





lol, yeah it's a little slutty, but my tata's aren't nearly that big & i plan on wearing tights or something so my butt isn't showing.

vacation!

i never really blogged about it, except a few short bursts from my phone, so, here we go!

i flew out with my grandparents. i was sooo anxious, omg. i'm so scared of planes! but, it wasn't bad at all. the flight was barely 90 minutes. i felt like such a little kid looking out the window at the clouds and looking down at the world, haha. so, we got there, and i've always felt so at home there. i love it so much. the closeness of family, the red dirt, the easygoing lifestyle, the peace, the LACK OF CRIME. ahhh, i could've stayed forever. we stayed for about 4 days total. i wish we could've stayed longer, but i had to go back to school =[ the town we were in is called Locust Grove, GA. about 30 mins south of Atlanta. I wanted to go to the aquarium really bad, but no one else wanted to. [laaaame!], but we did get to go see the MLK Center. the weather is beautiful, everyone is SO FRIENDLY and everything is just so laid back & southern.

it was an overall lovely vacay. the family reunion was great! it was a hawaiian theme, you'll notice later the flower i put in my hair =] it was all good, til me & my cousin got attacked by the most disgusting bug ever. haha. it looked just like a leaf and was 2 inches long. yuckity yuck.

going to ATLANTA!

well, technically, it's to a tiny town right outside of Atlanta for m family reunion & hopefully some sight-seeing. haven't been since 2006 & this is my first time ever with my mommy, it's gonna be so weird! we loved it down there so much & that was always our summer getaway. we get t-shirts every year with everyone's name on it, & i've they've passed away, there's a little star next to their name. this year there'll be one by my mom's name =[ booooo for death. but she's with me always.

i plan on taking some of her ashes down there & scattering them, because she LOVED it down there & she always felt so at home & so at peace there.

i'm so glad to get away, i need a vacation like mad.

anyway, this'll probably be my last post for a few days. i'm leaving Thursday morning & i'm busy all day tomorrow so i don't think i'll have time to blog.

i've been wanting one of these HUGE rings for the longest, i'm so happy i found it. but when i got home, i showed my aunt & she took it off my hand to get a better look at it, dropped it & it broke in two pieces! omggg, i was distraught, but she told me she'd replace it. so, i'm gonna get a new one monday. i hope they have 1 left in my size or i'm gonna be a sad, sad girl =[

ps, i'm on the hunt for a new liquid foundation? haven't used one in YEARS. i used to use Fashion Fair, but i'm broke now (ha), so I think i want to try a drug store brand. I'm a MAC NC or NW50, any brand & color suggestions?

The bow headband to end ALL bow headbands.

I nearly fainted when i saw this. I was casually walking through Claires with my aunt, planning on not buying anything cuz i'm poor as balls & suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, i saw it there, calling my name... "paiiiiige", it whispered,"PAIIIIIGEEEE, come get me", so i turned. and what do i see? a silver headband with a metal bow, encrusted in rhinestones. Lord help me!

It was the most beautiful sight. I couldn't stop "omg-ing" in the store. & i usually never try on headbands cuz who the hell knows who tried it on before & what they have, but i had to try this one on. omg. it was beautiful.

I have a serious addiction to headbands. I have probably almost 30. it's so tragic. but this is my far, my favorite. I also have a thing for bows, so it just made my life.

man i love these things.

so, i went to the dollar store yesterday to get some air fresheners for my car & just out of curiosity (and greed, to be quite frank), i went down the candy aisle.

and i found these!


i haven't had these in years, i forgot they even existed! i used to eat them all the time, especially at the movies.

i know this was pretty pointless, but i just wanted to share, cuz it made my day.

feeling better today.

nasty people.

i don't understand some folks... actually, first off, i guess i should clarify what i mean by "nasty". i don't mean physically nasty, like dirty people. i'm talking about people with constant foul attitudes and personalities.

what is the point? what is going on in your life that makes you so miserable? EVERYONE goes through hard times, it's a part of life, but don't let things sour you & turn you into a bitter person. you're helping NO ONE, including yourself. i decided to write this after speaking to a woman with a terrible attitude at work. it's a long story, and i don't feel like explaining, but she literally had me making faces at her over the phone, lol. she was horrible. i've spoken to her a few times & she's always been really foul. i don't understand how her husband puts up with it. i pray she isn't always that way. if so, she must be good in bed or something, because i can't imagine anyone putting up with that mess for years & years.

everyone gets in a bad mood from time to time, but there is no reason to take it out on others & drag innocent people into your misery.
