got pierced. AGAIN! haha, i'm seriously addicted. this time i got an industrial. hurt like a bitch, but not NEARLY as much as my rook.
there's a google image pic, i was too lazy to take pics myself =]
and i can't wait for it to heal so i can put this gorgeousness in there:
yay for piercings!
and then, on my way home, i heard a contest on the radio anouncing the first 10 people to call, would get a free membership to a well known gym chain around here (it's called powerhouse). and guess who won?!?!
yours truly. oh, yesss.
today was an awesome, awesome day.
and later, i'm going to the midnight viewing of "Brothers" with Jake Gylenhaal, Tobey McGuire (i can't believe how thin he got for this role! such a committed actor!), and Natalie Portman. it looks really good.
MJ was a genius! the way he felt the music was amazing. he was dancing just as well as his 20-something background dancers. just a flat our talented man. it wasn't sad at all. they didn't eve mention the fact that he passed away, it was a complete celebration and kind of a closure for all of us who were curious.
check out the trailer! as most of us remember, Heath Ledger passed away January, 2008 (it was THAT long ago?! seems like it just happened), anyway, this is the movie he was working on when he died. It wasn't finished, so they had to completely rework the parts he didn't finish and his part was filled in by Johnny Depp, Colin Ferrell and Jude Law (idk if this is true, but i heard they were all donating 100% of their paychecks to Heath's daughter, Matilda). it looks really good! one of those "visual" movies i love. like "Moulin Rouge", and "Willy Wonka". Good movies, but they're also REALLY pretty to look at. "Imaginarium" looks pretty interesting! can't wait to see it! RIP Heath. such a talented actor. seriously, him as the Joker gave me chills. amazing.
GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW! GO SEE IT NOW!
ok, i'm done, lol, but seriously, it was so good! best zombie movie i've ever seen hands, down. the thing that made it-the humor! yes, it was gory as expected, but the humor was so great. it stars Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Abigail Bresslin, and newcomer Jesse Eisenberg.
it's hard to explain, but just go see it guys. you won't regret it. i'm usually not all that impressed by movies, especially scary ones, but this one was really good and different.
so, i was watching "Wendy Williams" [boy, half my posts are getting to be about this woman, lol, but i LOVE her show!] and she played the trailer for a Chris Rock documentary called "Good Hair". i believe it's supposed to be released nationwide on October and i cannot wait to see it. long story short; the movie is about how we as a race feel about our hair. personally, i don't think how you style your hair has ANYTHING to do with how you feel about your race. i straighten my hair to the dickens & i wear 14 inches of remi hair [love it!] and i'm completely proud to be black! i just think i look better with long hair & my hair won't get that long on it's own. and i like how manageable my hair is when it's straight. why do so many "natural" sisters feel the need to say that women who use chemicals, etc. are shunning their heritage? hair is hair. do what you want with it. if you wanna wear dreads, cool. if you want a long, ice blond weave down to your ankles, fine.
speaking of "good hair", what is GOOD HAIR to you? i've always heard this term, and everytime someone would say it around my mom she would say, "everything God made is good!" (she was SO WISE, i miss her so much), and it's true. why is some hair "GOOD" and others' "bad"? as most of us know, lots of Black people usually will say it's hair that's long, curly, no "kitchen", smooth on the edges, & very soft. the fact of the matter is, most of us don't have hair like that! if you're 100% black, it's probably jet black, coarse, kinky & your edges DO NOT lay down, lol. and there's nothing wrong with that! i wish we could learn to stop calling it "good" hair. hair is hair & everyone is beautiful.
if you guys haven't heard of it, it's the same guy that was in "Borat", his name is Sasha Baren Cohen & he's super hot, btw.
In this movie he plays a gay Austrian. the premise is basically like a prank reality show. it's all real & he pranks real people & companies.
It comes out July 10 (which would've been my mom's 55th b-day & she thought he was SO funny, maybe it's just a coincidence, but she must be telling me I need to go see it. thanks mommy =])
